Flathead 4, Helena 2 (OT)
The Flathead boys pulled off the biggest upset of the day when they defeated No. 2 seed Helena 4-2 in a shootout in a Class AA playoff soccer match in Helena on Thursday.
The seventh-seeded Braves (3-10) tied Helena (6-4-3) in regulation 2-2 before Miles Terry, Carter Warnell, Sam Clarin and Jace Darrow each scored in the shootout. Goalkeeper Josh Osborne limited Helena to only a pair of goals in overtime to send the Braves to the Class AA state tournament in Great Falls next week.
Clarin scored for Flathead in the 69th minute to tie the match at 2 apiece. Darrow scored the match’s first goal in the 25th minute.

Glacier 4, Missoula Big Sky 3
The Wolfpack notched four goals in the first half and held off the Eagles in Thursday’s playoff match to advance to the Class AA state soccer tournament.
Rohit Tappeta, Colton Becker and Kade Deleray scored goals for fourth-seeded Glacier (6-4-3). Fifth-seeded Big Sky scored an own goal in the first half.

Flathead 4, Helena Capital 0
Stephanie Wilson scored a pair of goals and the fourth-seeded Bravettes cruised to victory over the fifth-seeded Lady Bruins in Kalispell en route to the Class AA state soccer tournament.
Zoe and Zina Loudermilk each added scores in the first half for Flathead (5-5-3).
Flathead will play Bozeman, the top seed from the East, at noon, Oct. 30 at the state tournament.
Glacier 3, Missoula Big Sky 2 (OT)
Carly McDonald scored her second goal in the 85th minute to vault the Wolfpack to the state tournament.
Cayli Mower assisted in the game-winning goal in overtime. McDonald also scored in the first half, along with Cadie Williams.
Glacier’s goalkeeper, Amy Braig, had 11 saves.
Glacier (5-4-4) will play Great Falls C.M. Russell, the No. 2 seed from the East, at noon, Oct. 30, at the Class AA state tournament.
