The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2017

By Beacon Staff

The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking comments on a proposal to rehabilitate the bridge over the Whitefish River on Highway 40 about 3 miles southeast of Whitefish.

The bridge is located at reference post 1.69 and the project would extend approximately 200 feet from each bridge end.

The project includes milling the existing deck, placing a concrete overlay, removing the concrete approach slabs and upgrading the bridge rail and guardrail approaches.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2017, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.

No new Right-of-Way or utility relocations will be needed.

Members of the public may submit written comments to the Montana Department of Transportation Missoula office at PO Box 7039, Missoula MT  59807-7039, or online.
