MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Two mountain lions were killed and wildlife officials are looking for a third suspected in the deaths of three goats and two sheep at a residence in a wooded area southeast of Missoula.

Doug Stewart said the animals killed earlier this week were pets his family had to keep the grass and weeds under control around his house in the Pattee Canyon area.

KECI-TV reports the dead livestock were used to bait three traps Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials set in Stewart’s yard.

Regional wildlife manager Mike Thompson says two juvenile males, weighing 80 and 85 pounds, were drawn to the area. One was trapped and Stewart’s son shot the other.

Officials think there’s still a female cat in the area.
