The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the suspicious death of a 29-year-old Charlo woman and has detained a man but no charges have been filed.
According to Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin, dispatch received a call shortly after 5 a.m., Tuesday about a woman, later identified as Raelynn M. Charlo, who had apparently committed suicide by shooting herself.
When police officers arrived on scene, the evidence did not match what the man who reported the incident had told them, according to Yonkin. The man, who told police he was her husband, is being held on an unrelated charge and has been questioned about the shooting.
Charlo’s body was taken to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
