Homemade Holidays

If you’re like me and just starting to think about the holidays, these books will come to the rescue

I know a few people who start making homemade Christmas gifts in, like, February. I’m not one of those people.

If you’re like me and just starting to think about the holidays, these books will come to the rescue.

Not just Christmas:

“Make and Give” by Steph Hung. Choose from dozens of simple and modern crafts for any occasion, such as fill-in-the-blank tattoos and candy capsule necklaces.

“Handmade Gifts” by Hannah Moore. Find more than 70 ideas for anyone in your life, including upcycled ideas and variations to make each gift unique.

Edible gifts:

“Handmade Gifts from the Kitchen” by Alison Walker. Foodies, take notice! Here are 100 delicious gift ideas, including wrapping suggestions.

“Edible DIY” by Lucy Baker. Easy and tasty options in five categories: Crunchy, Boozy, Sweet, Spicy and Jars. Espresso barbecue sauce, anyone?

With kids, for kids:

“Christmas Crafting with Kids” by Catherine Woram. Get out the craft supplies and get the kids excited about making gifts, decorations, cards and gift wrap.

“Made for Baby” by DK Publishing. Create the cutest, cuddliest and coziest baby gifts imaginable.

Of course, if you use Pinterest you may not need any books – just a way to stop time so you can make all the cool stuff you find. Check out the board “DIY Handmade Gifts” by Michele Yates for more than 6,000 ideas. For decorations, cards and more, try “Winter Décor” by Lizzie Living Pretty.

And if you end up making only a couple of handmade gifts, or none at all, there’s always next year!
