Kalispell, Missoula Flights Canceled Due to Fog

Flights delayed due to heavy fog lingering in valley

Several flights have once again been canceled in Northwest Montana because of dense fog.

In Kalispell, airport director Cindi Martin said less than a dozen flights were canceled at Glacier Park International Airport in recent days due to heavy fog.

A similar situation is playing out in Missoula, where airport director Cris Jensen says flights to Salt Lake City, Seattle and Denver were canceled on Tuesday. He says flights are expected to resume about 11 a.m.

Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Missoula said they expected the dense valley inversions to scour out by Wednesday afternoon, lifting the heavy fog.

Martin encouraged travelers to always be prepared for possible delays or cancelations by keeping a change of clothing, important medication and valuables with them instead of in checked baggage.

“It’s not uncommon for us to see this type of weather during this time of year,” she said.
