BOZEMAN — Authorities say four Bozeman schools were placed on lockdown after someone reported a man with a rifle or shotgun walking near one of the schools.

Police said there was no indication the man was threatening anyone when he was seen Wednesday afternoon, and no injuries were reported.

Police say they were unable to find the man.

The initial report said the man was near Hyalite Elementary School. Hyalite along with Meadowlark and Emily Dickinson elementary schools and Chief Joseph Middle School were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
