Leon Wilcox has stepped down as the volleyball coach at Flathead High School after eight seasons.

The Bravettes advanced to the Class AA state volleyball tournament every season under Wilcox and finished second in 2012. The team was 14-12 last season.

Wilcox stepped down to be more involved with his kids, according to Flathead Activities Director Bryce Wilson.

“Leon has done an amazing job over the past eight years,” Wilson said. “His commitment to Flathead and volleyball have been a driving force to the success of our volleyball program.”

Flathead is also searching for a new boys soccer coach.

Dan Ferguson stepped down as the Braves’ coach after two seasons. He accepted a director position for a youth soccer program in Virginia, according to Wilson. The Braves were 3-12 last season.

“I feel Dan has moved our program in a positive direction,” Wilson said. “He worked hard and was an incredible person to lead our program over the past two years.”
