Zinke to be Sworn in Jan. 6

Zinke's communications staff says he'll be the first Navy SEAL to serve in the U.S. House

HELENA — Montana Republican Rep.-elect Ryan Zinke will be sworn in to the U.S. House of Representatives next week as part of the 114th Congress.

Zinke will take the oath of office Jan. 6 and will serve on the Natural Resources and House Armed Services committees. Montana is home to Malmstrom Air Force Base.

Zinke’s communications staff says he’ll be the first Navy SEAL to serve in the U.S. House. He is a retired SEAL commander.

Zinke defeated Democrat John Lewis in the November election.
