Last weekend, during the annual Craft Brewers Cup hockey tournament at Woodland Park Ice Center, the Flathead Valley Hockey Association celebrated its recent purchase: a new Zamboni machine. The gas-powered machine was previously owned by the Chicago Blackhawks NHL franchise and was purchased thanks to a successful fundraising drive. Michael Konopka, John Hinchey and Kevin Hanko traveled over 3,000 miles round trip to Wisconsin to bring the machine to Kalispell.

The hockey association expressed gratitude to Eisinger Honda, Kalispell Convention and Visitor Bureau, Tamarack Brewing Company and FVHA volunteers in securing the funds to purchase the machine, which will keep the ice shiny at Woodland Ice Center.
