Seniors have the opportunity to enroll in one of the program’s 16 courses

By Beacon Staff

Registration for Flathead Valley Community College’s 21st annual Senior Institute will kick off Feb. 3 at 8 a.m.

The program provides area seniors ages 65 years of age and older opportunities to enroll in classes designed just for them. The six-week program promotes lifelong opportunities and enables seniors to learn new information, develop new and enhance existing skills, reconnect with old friends and make new ones and stay active during the winter months.

This spring, seniors have the opportunity to enroll in one of the program’s 16 courses that range from musical theatre, bone health and birds of Northwest Montana to ceramics, social media and the Civil War. The cost to enroll varies with each class.

The program will meet every Friday beginning Feb. 20 and concluding March 27. Students are treated to a complimentary lunch buffet each Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Classes will follow lunch from 1 to 2:50 p.m.

Classes will fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Course registration can be completed in the FVCC Registration Office in Blake Hall on the college’s Kalispell campus, by mail-in registration form or by faxing the registration form to 756-3965. For students who have never enrolled in a credit course at FVCC, a Non-degree Application for Admission is required in addition to the Senior Institute Registration Form.

Registration forms with complete course descriptions and enrollment fees can be obtained by calling 756-3813 or by visiting www.fvcc.edu/seniorinstitute.
