Former software company executive Greg Gianforte will be the keynote speaker at a luncheon for Flathead Area Young Professionals this month.

The event is Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Red Lion Kalispell Center Hotel from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pre-registration is required and early registration is suggested, as the event is likely to sell out. The cost is $10 for members and $20 for non members, which includes lunch.

Gianforte, who founded the software engineering company RightNow Technologies and sold it to Oracle for $1.5 billion in 2012, will discuss mentorship, entrepreneurship and economic development as they pertain to Montana businesses and young professionals.

According to organizers, the luncheon’s goal is to mentor and inspire business leaders of the Flathead.

After presenting, Gianforte will also conduct several individual coaching sessions and a roundtable discussion for selected FAYP members.

Gianforte is now managing director of the Bozeman Technology Incubator. His previous software company grew to encompass more than 1,100 employees worldwide, becoming the largest commercial employer in Bozeman and the only publicly traded technology company headquartered in Montana.

“Greg Gianforte’s mentorship and insights will be invaluable to the area’s aspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders,” said Dawn Hendrickson, incoming president of Flathead Area Young Professionals. “We are honored to have a business leader of Greg’s caliber partnering with our organization to help create new opportunities in the Flathead Valley.”
