BILLINGS — More than 48,000 people in Montana have signed up for health insurance through the online marketplace that is central to the nation’s health care overhaul law
Federal health officials announced the latest participation figures Wednesday and urged individuals needing health care to sign up before the Feb. 15 open enrollment period ends.
The Department of Health and Human Services said in a statement that 84 percent of Montana consumers who signed up for coverage qualified for financial assistance to lower premium costs.
About 7.5 million people nationwide have signed up for health insurance through the online markets.
