Relay for Life Gala at Brumar Estates

The kickoff program will honor cancer survivors and caregivers and feature the Society’s mission to save lives from cancer

By Beacon Staff

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Flathead County will hold a kickoff Gala for the annual event on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at BruMar Estate, 29048 Broken Leg Road in Bigfork. The Society is inviting people who are interested in learning more, getting involved and giving back to the event to attend.

The kickoff program will honor cancer survivors and caregivers and feature the Society’s mission to save lives from cancer. Attendees will have the opportunity to win a free diamond courtesy of event sponsor Riddles Jewelry. They will also have the chance to learn more about the ACS programs offered in Flathead County, register a team for the Relay For Life event, and participate in the live and silent auctions filled with items graciously donated by businesses in the Flathead County area.

This year’s Relay For Life event will be held June 19 at Flathead County Fairgrounds. Relay For Life is a community event where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team has at least one participant on the track at all times and participates in fundraising that supports the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives and finish the fight against cancer.

Last year, over 600 people participated in Flathead County and raised over $70,000.
