As the valley continues to transition to what seems like an early spring, it’s a good time to think about and thank the people who keep outdoor enthusiasts safe during the winter season.

On March 16, head to the Bierstube at Whitefish Mountain Resort for the annual Ski Patrol Nonprofit FUNdraiser, which will include raffle prizes, a silent auction, and live music from the Belton Blues Band. Prizes include skis, backpacks, avalanche transceivers, and more.

All of the proceeds from the evening will go toward The Patrol Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities and financial assistance to further snow safety and wilderness first aid knowledge.

The Patrol Fund sponsored three avalanche and snow safety courses this winter alone, and awarded six scholarships to community members for avalanche, wilderness first responder, and wilderness first aid courses, including a youth scholarship.

So enjoy the festivities from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and support those who seek to keep us safe on the slopes and winter trails.
