MISSOULA — After a heartbreaking loss in the Big Sky Conference Tournament championship, the University of Montana men’s basketball team has to regroup to take on Texas A&M in the first round of the NIT.

The Griz (20-12) planned to leave Monday to travel to College Station, Texas, where they’ll play the Aggies (20-11) on Tuesday. The game tips off at 7 p.m. Mountain and will be televised on ESPNU.

The Griz played three close games in the league tournament and fell 69-65 to Eastern Washington in the title game after leading by nine points with four minutes to play.

Coach Travis DeCuire says he’s hoping the team will be able to play more relaxed against the Aggies.

Texas A&M took top-ranked and unbeaten Kentucky to double overtime in January, but lost four of its last five games. Montana has won nine of its last 11 games.
