HELENA — Junior quarterback Brady Gustafson threw four touchdown passes in Montana’s annual spring game on Saturday.

The scrimmage was held at Carroll College’s Nelson Stadium at Helena.

On his second drive, Gustafson connected with Reese Carlson for a 17-yards TD. The 6-foot-7 Gustafson threw over the top of a blitzing Herbert Gamboa to the right side and found the freshman open in the end zone.

The scored capped a drive of just 30 yards in six plays.

The offense’s next score came after 11 plays and ended with Gustafson connecting with junior Ryan Burke from 2 yards out.

Thanks to an interception and return by freshman linebacker Alex Thomas, Gustafson’s next TD pass covered 18 yards to Jamaal Jones.

The Missoulian reports that Ellis Henderson provided the play of the day following Gustafson’s third TD.

The play-making wide receiver took the ensuing kickoff from his own 15 and made for the left sideline. He banked back across midfield before juking the last defender for the score.

Gustafson added another TD pass to Henderson near the end of the scrimmage, a 16-yarder that the receiver snatched while streaking across the back of the end zone.
