Ice, Waves Damage Swan Lake Boat Ramp During Winter

The ramp is closed to boat launching until repairs are completed

By Beacon Staff

State managers are working to repair the boat ramp at the Swan Lake Day Use Site on the Swan Lake Ranger District after it was damaged over the winter.

The damage was discovered last week. Ice and wave action over the winter moved several of the ramp’s concrete planks, with a couple of the planks having moved up on top of other planks, making the ramp unusable.

The ramp is closed to boat launching until repairs are completed. The ranger district is working with the site concessionaire to make the ramp operational before the summer season.

Other area lakes with public boat ramp facilities include Holland and Lindbergh Lakes. To learn more about boating on the Flathead National Forest, visit www.fs.usda.gov/flathead.
