MISSOULA — Author John Krakauer plans to hold a public forum in Missoula next month following the release of his book about the handling of reported sexual assaults at the University of Montana.

Barbara Theroux with Fact and Fiction bookstore tells the Missoulian that publisher Doubleday contacted her and said Krakauer wanted to be part of a community forum. It is scheduled for May 6 at the DoubleTree Hotel ballroom in Missoula.

Krakauer’s book, “Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town,” is scheduled to be released on April 21.

Theroux says Larry Abramson, dean of UM’s School of Journalism, will interview Krakauer and the author will take questions from the audience.
