More than $104,000 went missing from 2009 to 2011

HAVRE — Financial analysts for the state Department of Criminal Investigation say a former restaurant manager who changed her plea to guilty last week stole more than $60,000 from her employer.

The Havre Daily News reports the owners of the Lunch Box contacted Havre Police in 2011 after discovering a customer had purchased $60 worth of cookies that manager Jean A. Grandberg never entered into the restaurant’s bank account.

Julie Davidson and her husband looked more closely at their records and found purchases were rung up incorrectly and credit card transactions were voided. They say more than $104,000 went missing from 2009 to 2011.

Grandberg, who had initially pleaded not guilty in 2014, will appear at a sentencing hearing June 3.
