HELENA — Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has proposed buying state trust lands within three Fish, Wildlife & Parks managed areas.

The Helena Independent Record reports that the purchase would allow Fish, Wildlife & Parks to own land it currently rents from the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation within wildlife management area boundaries.

The wildlife management areas are the Blackleaf, Sun River and Beartooth.

The proposal is in the scoping process, seeking public comments. The deadline or comment is June 15.
