Whitefish Boys Second, Columbia Falls Girls Third at Class A State Track

Nagler leads Bulldogs to runner-up trophy; Nicosia places in three events for Columbia Falls girls

The Whitefish boys track team had three individual state champions and earned a second-place team trophy at the Class A championship track meet in Laurel this weekend.

The Columbia Falls girls earned third.

Jed Nagler claimed gold in the high jump (6-5) and the 100 (11.15). He also placed third in the 200.

Luke May won the javelin (194-9). Keaton Grove won the 110 hurdles (14.99) and placed sixth in the 300 hurdles.

Whitefish swept the relay races. Luke Cardon placed fifth in the 800 and Brian FauntLeroy placed sixth in 51.56.

Corvallis edged the Bulldogs for the team championship with 74 points. Whitefish had 70. Belgrade 51.

On the girls side, Samanthan Mundel won both the 1,600 (5:06.27) and the 3,200 (11:11.68). She also placed second in the 800. Carla Nicosia won the triple jump, earned third in the high jump and placed fourth in the 100 hurdles. Kiara Burlage placed sixth in the long jump.

Corvallis won the girls championship with 102 points. Columbia Falls tallied 68.

Whitefish’s Grace Kurtz placed third in both the 100 and 200 and fifth in the 400. Kate Doorn earned second in the high jump. Allie Schulz earned third in the 100 hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles. Sarah Latchum placed fifth in both the 800 and 1,600. The Lady Bulldogs long relay team placed second. Ellie DeWan placed fifth in the 300 hurdles.

For boys, Columbia Falls Ty Morgan placed third in the javelin. Stephen Lindsey earned fourth in the long jump. Kyler Burns was sixth in the high jump and Logan Kolodejchuk was sixth in the triple jump. Tanner Dana was sixth in the 200.
