Chicken Scare

7:17 a.m. One mule and a miniature horse were loose on Highway 206 near Columbia Falls.

8:28 a.m. A Kalispell man called in stating that he found an odd object, possibly a bomb, in the trunk of his new car. He also added that someone stole his cell phone. It was later determined that the bomb-like thing and associated wires were a functional part of the car.

9:23 a.m. A Hungry Horse woman found a dead bat in her house.

9:38 a.m. A highly agitated Circle Drive resident reported that someone has been speeding through the neighborhood and confessed that he was prepared to throw nails out onto the highway. He was advised not to do that.

10:11 a.m. A Bigfork resident lost her yorkie puppy. It could be recognized by the small jingle bell around its neck.

11:09 a.m. A Hungry Horse man reported that a woman, who is currently on her way to New Orleans, stole $1,000 from his house and hit the road.

11:16 a.m. A Kalispell woman called in to see if anyone found her cat.

5:41 p.m. A dog was attacked and injured by a deer on Lawrence Lane.

5:57 p.m. A woman on Willow Glenn Drive reported that a known chicken killer was in her yard.

6:02 p.m. A woman on East Evergreen Drive claimed that her neighbor hit her with the lid to the sewer after she tried to tell him what to do.

6:51 p.m. A woman was apprehended after attempting to steal $10 worth of deli items from a grocery store in Evergreen.

7:33 p.m. A Kalispell man reported that someone broke into his house, took a picture of it, and sent it to his brother.

8:03 p.m. Someone saw a man waving his air-soft gun at cars on Ridgewood Drive. The caller suspected that he may have shot a kid in the eye with it.

1:48 a.m. A kid called from his trampoline to report that a bear was in the backyard and that his friend was having a panic attack. A bear was gone and the kids were inside when a deputy arrived.
