East All-Stars Hold Off West in Montana Shrine Game

The all-stars from the East scored 19 unanswered points in the first half and held off a late rally attempt to secure a 19-14 victory in the 69th annual Montana East-West Shrine Game in Great Falls on Saturday.

Holden Ryan, a running back and recent graduate from Billings Central, ran for 113 yards and a touchdown and earned the Offensive MVP award. Jake Clarke, a linebacker from Billings Senior, returned an interception 42 yards for the first touchdown of the game and garnered Defensive MVP honors.

Brandon Kubitz hit a pair of field goals and the East scored 19 unanswered points in the first half.

The West all-stars tried to rally in the second half and Butte’s Dalton Daum scored a 95-yard kick return for touchdown in the third quarter.

Glacier grad Brady McChesney connected on 7 of 15 passes for 92 yards as the West’s quarterback.
