Whitefish Animal Hospital has moved to a new building, finally giving the hospital the chance to expand after being in the same building on West Second Street since 1994.

The move to 713 East 13th St. (across from Walgreens and behind the Zip Trip gas station) will double the animal hospital’s square footage, from 2,500 to 5,000, giving the staff more room to see their furry – and sometimes not furry, say the reptiles – clients.

Dr. Jim Thompson and the staff will be able to provide more space in the treatment area, and the move also opens up the possibility of adding a new internal medicine specialist and the specialist’s support staff.

Other additions include a new laparoscopic and endoscopic unit, allowing the staff to perform minimally invasive procedures on the animals, which makes for easier and more comfortable healing.
