A fortunate driver walked away without injuries Thursday morning in Kalispell after crashing into a logging truck on U.S. Highway 93 near Rocky Cliff Drive.
“Today was his lucky day,” Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Bob Hensley said.
The driver pulled out of Rocky Cliff Drive onto the highway without seeing the large truck hauling logs traveling northbound. The car struck the cab of the truck, causing the truck and its trailer to roll over onto the car. Logs sprayed across the road and into the ditch, and the highway was closed for two-and-a-half hours. The front of the car was completed crushed, but both drivers escaped injury.
“He didn’t see the truck,” Hensley said of the driver of the car.
“But there were no injuries. I’ve seen a lot worse from a lot less.”
