A Lakeside man is accused of shooting out a window after getting into an argument with his girlfriend earlier this month.
David Leith was charged with criminal possession of drugs and assault with a weapon on Aug. 4. He is expected to appear in court later this month.
According to court documents, police responded to a Lakeside residence on Aug. 3 after a woman reported that her boyfriend was being aggressive. The woman told police that she and Leith had gotten into an argument and that he had left the home. A short while later, Leith returned to the residence, took the woman’s gun and fired at a window. Leith then took two bottles of prescription drugs that belonged to the woman and left the house.
Police located Leith and searched the vehicle where they found the handgun and the woman’s prescription drugs.
If convicted, Leith could face up to 25 years in prison and up to $100,000 in fines.
