Shakespeare in the Parks: ‘The Taming of the Shrew’

On Aug. 26, theater heads outdoors at Flathead Valley Community College

By Molly Priddy

August is the month when summer starts to wane, with the reminder that school and autumn are on the horizon.

But there’s still fun to be had, especially outdoors. And Montana Shakespeare in the Parks hopes to meld the popularity of playwright William Shakespeare with the breathtaking views of Montana’s scenery with its upcoming Aug. 26 performance of “Taming of the Shrew” at Flathead Valley Community College.

The theater company performing the play is on its largest tour in its 43-year history, so be sure to arrive early with chairs, blankets, and picnics so as not to miss the Bard’s words. The performance is free and open to the public.

It’s a great opportunity to get back into that school frame of mind, while still totally immersed in summer.
