A second person involved in a vehicle accident near Libby has died, authorities announced Thursday.

Joseph Wesley Barnes, 39, died Wednesday evening at Kalispell Regional Medical Center of injuries sustained in the crash, Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe said.

Barnes was a passenger in a truck that rolled Sunday on Pipe Creek Road.

The driver, Tyler A. Ruhter, died at Kalispell Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, three days after the vehicle he was driving crashed on Pipe Creek Road north of Libby. Ruhter was one of three people inside the vehicle. A 13-year-old passenger received non-life-threatening injuries.

None of the passengers were wearing seat belts. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
