A 29-year-old woman incarcerated at the Flathead County Detention Center was found dead in her cell Thursday morning.
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office identified the woman as Iberica Paulino of Kalispell. Paulino was being held on charges of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, criminal contempt and criminal trespass.
Security guards found Paulino at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday during their morning rounds. Paulino was not breathing and had no pulse when she was found and efforts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful. The cause of death is unknown.
The Montana State Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Sanders County coroner are investigating the death. Paulino’s body has been taken to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula for an autopsy.
