BILLINGS — A freshman golfer at Montana State Billings drained a hole-in-one on the first shot of his collegiate career.

Scott Larson of Kalispell hit the ace off the No. 11 tee at Fox Hills Golf Club in Longmont, Colorado on Monday, at a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament. Larson graduated from Glacier High School.

Larson says the shot felt good and he could see it was going at the stick. After confirming the eagle, he says he was in a bit of shock.

Larson’s hole-in-one on the 192-yard, par 3 hole was the second of his life. He hit a hole-in-one as a junior in high school from almost the same distance.

MSU Billings golf coach Shawn O’Brien says that tee shot will be one that Larson cherishes for a long time.
