ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. — Rescuers have recovered the body of a Montana man after he failed to return from a climbing trip in Rocky Mountain National Park.

The man was identified as 26-year-old Spencer Veysey, of Missoula. He had been planning to summit Longs Peak. It was unclear what route he was intending to take to the summit.

Park rangers searched the area on Saturday and found Veysey’s body at the bottom of Lambs Slide on the east face of Longs Peak. Rangers stayed at the Chasm Shelter, near his body, on Saturday night because of bad weather.

The body was recovered on Sunday and turned over to the Boulder County Coroner.
