HELENA — A northwestern Montana man is charged with assaulting the owner of a daycare when she wouldn’t let him pick up his children because he does not have legal custody of them and was intoxicated.

Francis Jackson is charged with aggravated burglary for the Oct. 7 attack on the owner of a Ronan daycare where his three young children were being cared for.

Charging documents allege the daycare owner was able to get Jackson to leave and locked the door, but then he started throwing things at the window.

The owner went outside where prosecutors allege Jackson and a female companion attacked her before fleeing.

KERR-AM reports Jackson was arrested in Washington state Monday afternoon. Officials in Pend Oreille County in Washington say Jackson waived extradition Tuesday.
