Nicholson Scores Game-Winner in Overtime, Sending Whitefish to Semis
The Bulldogs (10-3-1) advance to the state semifinals and will play Billings Central (10-0-1) on the road

Haley Nicholson added another highlight to a stellar season in the quarterfinals of the Class A girls soccer playoffs on Oct. 17.
The Whitefish junior scored two goals, including the game-winning score in overtime off an assist by Pixie Moore to help the Bulldogs defeat Frenchtown 4-3.
The Bulldogs (10-3-1) advance to the state semifinals and will play Billings Central (10-0-1) on the road on Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mountain College. Billings Central defeated Corvallis in the quarterfinals 5-1. Whitefish defeated Polson 2-1 on Oct. 13 in a play-in match.
Nicholson has 30 goals this season, tied for most in the state with Frenchtown’s Abbey Teagle.
In other playoff action, Laurel eliminated Columbia Falls 3-1 on Oct. 17. Laurel (6-4-1) hosts Hamilton (12-1) in the other semifinal match on Oct. 24. Hamilton beat Belgrade 2-1.
