Officials have not released any information about what led to the arrests early Sunday

MISSOULA — The Missoula County attorney is asking police to further investigate felony burglary allegations against five University of Montana students, including three football players.

Kirsten Pabst said Monday that all five have been released on bond and their court appearances delayed. Pabst tells the Missoulian the initial investigation did not provide enough information for her office to determine if felony charges were appropriate.

Officials have not released any information about what led to the arrests early Sunday of players Kendrick Van Ackeren, Joseph Counts and John Schmaing, along with Courtney Reep and Maclain Tomlinson.

UM Athletic Director Kent Haslam said Sunday all three players were suspended from the team indefinitely, per the student-athlete code of conduct. Eric Taber with UM sports information said the players’ status hadn’t changed Monday.
