POCATELLO, Idaho – Dakota Prukop threw for four touchdowns and ran for another on Saturday as Montana State scored the first 34 points on its way to a 44-20 victory over Idaho State.
The Bobcats (5-5, 3-4 Big Sky Conference) led 27-0 at halftime and opened the second half with a four-play, 75-yard scoring drive. Prukop capped it with a 34-yard strike to Justin Paige just 1:47 into the third quarter.
The Bengals (2-8, 1-6) responded with TD-scoring drives on their next two possessions to cut the deficit to 34-14, but Montana State pushed its lead back to 27 with 8 seconds left in the quarter.
Prukop finished with 263 yards passing, Chad Newell ran 18 times for 110 yards and Luke Daly kicked a career-best 57-yard field goal for the Bobcats.
Xavier Finney had 145 yards rushing and Madison Mangum had 112 yards receiving for the Bengals.
