Amtrak Train Hits Pickup Near Kremlin; 1 Killed, 2 Injured

None of the 108 passengers were injured on the eastbound Empire Builder train

HAVRE — Authorities say an Amtrak train crashed into a pickup at a crossing near Kremlin, west of Havre, killing one person and injuring two others.

The Havre Daily News reports the Empire Builder train was headed east when it hit the truck Monday afternoon on a dirt road west of Kremlin that heads north from U.S. Highway 2. The train was delayed for about two hours.

Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari tells The Great Falls Tribune none of the 108 people on the train was injured.

Investigators have not released the names of the people in the truck.
