Authorities Arrest Suspect in Pablo Shooting

Police are looking for Ashley Rae Hewankorn in connection to a shooting in Pablo on Monday

Police have arrested a 28-year-old woman wanted in connection with a shooting in Pablo this week.

On Wednesday, Lake County Sheriff Don Bell announced that authorities were looking for Ashley Rae Hewankorn after she allegedly shot another woman at a home in Pablo on Monday afternoon.

The victim is currently in stable condition.

Just hours after identifying Hewankorn, authorities got a tip that she was seen hitch-hiking to Browning on Monday evening. The information was given to the Glacier County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI and she was apprehended within an hour.

According to police, she has numerous outstanding warrants and will be charged with assault with a weapon following this week’s shooting.
