Kalispell police, along with fugitive recovery agents from California, apprehended and arrested a fugitive wanted in a counterfeiting case.

According to the Kalispell Police Department, officers responded to the Dec. 17 call from the recovery agents at about 2:15 p.m., seeking assistance in the arrest. The fugitive, identified as 36-year-old Jeffery Lawrence Harrell, was staying at a hotel on the south end of town.

Harrell was arrested by KPD, and his room was secured due to the discovery of “evidence and contraband related to the counterfeiting of U.S. currency,” according to the police department.

He was arrested and booked at the Flathead County Detention Center on the warrant out of California, pending further investigation of counterfeiting activity by the KPD and the U.S. Secret Service. More arrests are expected in this case, KPD said.
