Lake County Deputy Bit by Woman Believed to Be on Meth

Woman was arrested after trying to ram law enforcement vehicle

Two Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies received minor injuries on Dec. 18 while trying to arrest a woman they believed was high on meth.

According Sheriff Don Bell, authorities received a report of suspicious activity at about 5 a.m. near Finley Point. A woman was allegedly standing outside her vehicle screaming and causing a disturbance.

When police officers arrived, they found the woman driving and tried to pull her over. In the process, the woman allegedly tried to ram the deputies’ vehicle. The officers then pinned her car against a retaining wall and the driver was taken into custody. In the process of removing the woman from the car, one deputy was injured and the other was bitten.

The woman has been hospitalized and the incident remains under investigation.
