MISSOULA – A 30-year-old Missoula man faces charges that he killed his girlfriend, whose body was found in the Pattee Canyon area southeast of the city.
Missoula County prosecutors filed a deliberate homicide charge against Emmanuel Gomez on Monday in the death of Charlie Ann Wyrick. He was set to make an initial appearance in Justice Court Monday afternoon.
Officers were searching for Wyrick when they found her body late Sunday morning.
Prosecutors say a co-worker reported Wyrick missing on Dec. 24. She said Wyrick told her that Gomez had threatened to kill her. Another friend told investigators that Wyrick said if she ever went missing to look in the Pattee Canyon area, where Gomez had previously taken her to beat her.
Gomez has been jailed since his Dec. 24 arrest on suspicion of partner or family member assault.
