MMA Fighters to Square Off in Kalispell

Fourteen bouts of mixed martial arts competition are slated for Saturday, Jan. 16

Fourteen bouts of mixed martial arts competition are slated for Saturday, Jan. 16 at Majestic Valley Arena north of Kalispell.

FightForce, a promoter that organizes MMA events across Montana, is hosting the latest Kalispell Kombat event, which begins at 7 p.m. Previous events have attracted over 3,000 spectators. Sponsored VIP tables have already sold out, but general admission tickets are still available. Tickets can be purchased at ARMY NAVY stores, The Majestic Valley Arena, Big Sky Martial Arts, SBGI Gyms in Whitefish or Kalispell and Absolute Fight Factory. Adult tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on Saturday. For those 12 and under, tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on Saturday. Tickets can also be purchased at www.fightforce.com.

The lineup card, which is subject to change, features 14 fights as of Jan. 11.

Phoenix Karjala, a fighter from Great Falls, will face Lance Brannon of Eureka.

Cody Houppert of Missoula is slated to fight Josh Dusterhoff of Kalispell.

Theron Martin of Great Falls will take on Cody Jerome of Lethbridge, Alberta.

Michael Shaferly of Kalispell will fight Matt Lawlor of Kalispell.

Josh Heisdorf of Missoula will fight Dakota Arndt of Kalispell.

Brylin Larson of Missoula will take on Mike Mitchekota of Lethbridge.

Zach Cross of Bozeman will fight Calvin Freeman of Kalispell.

Marshall Sutherland of Great Falls will fight Bryce Benson of Plains.

Arian Kehoe of Kalispell will fight Josh Schreiner of Kalispell in his first amateur bout.

In the lone female match, Zaneta Sutherland of Rocky Boy will fight Marnic Mann of Kalispell. Mann is making her MMA debut.

Dillon Fryxell of Plains will fight Kalispell’s Taylor Reed.

Corbin Eysted of Kalispell of Kalispell will fight Kalispell’s Larry Francis.

Tony Cantrell of Fergus Falls will take on Gus Nolte of Kalispell in one of two professional bouts. Cantrell was last featured on the television show “King of the Cage.”

The other pro bout featues Alejandro Errendondo of Arizona who will fight Hamilton Ash of Kalispell in the main event. Errendondo trains at The Lab in Arizona, an elite training gym that has produced UFC fighters.

“That should be a really good fight between two really quality guys,” said Travis Davison with Straight Blast Gym of Montana, an elite training gym in Kalispell. “It will be a very technical display of MMA.”
