The northwest shore of Flathead Lake will be abuzz with winter festivities from Jan. 22 through Jan. 24, when Lakeside Winterfest takes over town.
Starting Friday, Jan. 22, families can head down to the Lakeside Pavilion behind the Lakeside Town Center at 306 Stoner Loop for a free, family-friendly outdoor movie with s’mores. Chili and hot drinks will be available for purchase at the restaurant Seven. The fun begins at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
The next morning, Jan. 23, head to Blacktail Mountain Ski Area for the Blacktail Mountain Family Cup Ski Races and Sportsman and Ski Haus Demo Days. Check in and registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and online registration is available. Races start on Emmons Ridge at 11 a.m., with an awards ceremony at Muley’s at 4 p.m.
Then wander to the Tamarack Brewing Company for a pig roast, along with live music from the New Wave Time Trippers starting at 7 p.m.. There will be a big prize raffle drawing at 8:30 p.m. The town will host another outdoor movie at 5 p.m.
On Sunday, Jan. 24, Blacktail hosts Doggie Ski Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Explore the Nordic ski trails on the mountain with your favorite, friendly canine companions. Cookies for both humans and dogs will be provided.
