The Glacier High Speech and Debate program has earned the 2014-15 Leading Chapter Award in the Montana District, distinguishing the team as one of the best in the nation.

Out of more than 3,000 members schools nationwide, Glacier is one of only 110, and the only Montana school, to receive the Leading Chapter Award this year.

The award reflects 985 members over eight years. Since Glacier High opened in the fall of 2007, the school’s speech and debate program has had 65 national qualifiers, the most in Montana during that stretch. The team was recognized with an award during the Montana District tournament last weekend in Bozeman.

After their seventh place state finish in the inaugural 2007-08 season, the Wolfpack have earned a state tournament trophy at every tournament, including four state championship teams, one runner-up finish, and three third place finishes.

Greg Adkins, who will be inducted in the MHSA/MFEA Coaches Hall of Fame next month, has served as Glacier High Head Coach since the first season.
