The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 56-year-old woman killed in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday.

Emma C. Jore of Kila was the driver and only occupant of a vehicle that left the roadway and struck a tree. Jore was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the sheriff reported.

According to Montana Highway Patrolman John Underwood, Jore was driving south on Browns Meadow Road near Kila at about 4 p.m. when she drove off the road. She was airlifted to Kalispell Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead soon after.

Underwood said the incident is still under investigation and that it is unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved. He said the roads were dry at the time of the crash.
