The Play 60 Challenge will be free and open to the public on June 18 in Kalispell

Whitefish-based nonprofit For The Children, Inc. announced a new community event and fundraiser in 2016 bringing together NFL celebrities and kids for a fun day of activities promoting physical fitness and overall wellness.

For The Children, Inc. is partnering with Candy Bar Ranch to host Play 60 Challenge on June 18 at Glacier High School in Kalispell. Former and current NFL players will participate in games and events with kids of all ages who are welcome to attend. The day will also feature other giveaways, raffle prizes, food and family fun.

The Play 60 Challenge will be free and open to the public with donations appreciated. All proceeds will benefit For the Children, Inc., a nonprofit charitable organization that provides financial assistance to Montana families with children who are in need of medical treatment outside of their community. Monies assist families with travel expenses such as transportation, lodging, and meals.

More details about the event and celebrities will be announced in the upcoming weeks, according to organizers.

NFL All-Pro football player Doug Betters founded For The Children, Inc. along with the Whitefish Winter Classic in 1985. For 30 years, the multi-day event attracted NFL celebrities and community members who participated in a variety of fun events. Last year Betters retired the Whitefish Winter Classic.
