Blayne Bailey scored 12 points, Dylan Ruggles scored nine and the Glacier Wolfpack eliminated the Flathead Braves 52-37 in a Class AA playoff basketball game on Tuesday night at Flathead.

The Wolfpack (7-14) outrebounded the Braves 40-19 and advanced to a second playoff game on Friday against Helena Capital (11-9). Tip-off is at 6 p.m. in Helena and the winner qualifies for the Class AA state tournament, March 10-12 in Bozeman.

Tuesday’s victory avenged a loss against Flathead last week, Glacier’s first crosstown defeat since 2012, and ended the Braves season at 7-14.

Glacier outscored Flathead 30-19 in the second half. Tadan Gilman and Jake Willich each scored seven for the Pack while Noah Lundsay had five points and 11 rebounds.

Matt Marshall paced Flathead with 12 points. Tyler Johnson had 10 points and Bridger Johnson had nine points and six rebounds.

Helena Capital Eliminates Flathead Girls

Tjaden Pallister scored 14 points, Taylor Sullivan had 10 and the Helena Capital Lady Bruins defeated the Flathead Bravettes 53-34 on Tuesday night in Helena.

The defeat ended the Bravettes season at 4-17 overall.

Tiana Johnson scored a game-high 15 points for Flathead, Kylie Meredith had eight and Cadelyn Nunn added six.

Helena Capital (12-9) play at Missoula Hellgate (12-8) on Friday for a trip to the state tourney.

Glacier (12-8)  hosts Missoula Big Sky (11-8) on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the state tournament in Bozeman, March 10-12.
