Donors across the U.S. experienced technical difficulties on GiveBIG day, leading organizers of the local Flathead Valley nonprofit fundraiser to extend the event for another 24 hours.
Lucy Smith, executive director of the Flathead Community Foundation, said over 70 local nonprofits participating in the event have jointly decided to extend the online giving opportunity through midnight Wednesday, May 4.
The national website for online giving to Give Local Flathead has been experiencing technical difficulties and affecting all giving sites across the country.
The Flathead Community Foundation connects donors with causes they care about most, and supports local nonprofits through permanent endowments, donor-advised funds and community grant-making. The Give Local Flathead event seeks to help nonprofits across the valley.
People who have been unable to donate online through the national giving site can still support Give Local Flathead by bringing cash, checks, and credit card donations to the Gateway Community Center at 1203 US Highway 2 West in Kalispell. An information and donation booth is located in the center of the facility past the Food Court. Donors can enter through Entrances B & C. Organizers will be at Give Local Flathead headquarters at the Gateway Community Center until midnight May 3rd to accept donations.Donations may also be mailed to the PO Box 8045 – Kalispell, MT 59904.
Private donation lines have been established to support the Give Local effort. Donors may call 406-253-0911 or 406-471-4902 to make a pledge by phone including credit card donations. All donations are confidential and will support the services of the 70 local agency participants.
