Bowman Lake Road Now Open in Glacier Park

Primitive, first-come-first-served camping is available at Bowman Lake at a cost of $10 per night

By Beacon Staff

The National Park Service announced today that the Bowman Lake Road and Bowman Lake Campground up the North Fork are now open.

RVs and truck and trailer combinations are not recommended at Bowman Lake due to the nature of the long, narrow, and windy dirt road to the campground.

Primitive, first-come-first-served camping is available at Bowman Lake at a cost of $10 per night. There are no potable water sources in the campground. Campers are advised to bring their own drinking water. Vault toilets are available.

Bowman Lake also features a picnic area and several day hike opportunities.

To access the road, drive up North Fork Road north of Columbia Falls until Polebridge. Follow signs to the entrance station, and continue following signage for Bowman.

For information on park road, facility and trail openings please check the park’s website www.nps.gov/glac and follow @GlacierNPS on social media sites.
