The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help locating a Kalispell woman who has been charged with negligent homicide in the death of her 2-year-old son.

Takara Kaye Juntunen, 23, was charged with negligent homicide and criminal possession of dangerous drugs on May 23, but a week later she has still not been taken into custody. An arrest warrant was signed on May 24 and she is wanted on a $100,000 bond.

Prosecutors have accused Juntunen of being responsible for Forrest Groshelle’s 2015 death because she failed to seek medical attention for the boy in the days before his death, even though he showed signs of being abused.

On Wednesday, Sheriff Chuck Curry said Juntunen was last seen in the Somers area on Tuesday. Curry asked the public to call the Flathead Crimestoppers at (406) 752-TIPS with any information that could lead to Juntunen’s arrest.

Groshelle died on Feb. 17 and Juntunen’s boyfriend, Brandon Walter Lee Newberry, was arrested and charged with deliberate homicide immediately after. Newberry was convicted of mitigated deliberate homicide earlier this year and is currently serving a 40-year sentence to the Montana State Prison.
